The next match signed for No Holds Barred is a contest that few will want to miss as ‘The Star Attraction’ Mark Haskins will go one on one with ‘The Mexican Sensation’ El Ligero in what promises to be a fast paced, high octane, heated affair!
Mark Haskins took exception to El Ligero upon his return to Revolution Pro Wrestling as due to Marty Scurll’s withdrawal from the Uprising event Ligero was thrust straight into the main event contest against globetrotting star El Generico. A main event spot that Haskins believes that he should by default receive at each and every show he appears on. A spot that he hadn’t until that point had the honour of receiving for two years.
It was because of this that Haskins targeted Ligero in Night 2’s 6 Man Tag Team match, a contest which saw the former cruiserweight & tag team champion pin the Mexican.
Haskins again was able to dispose of Ligero, under very dubious circumstances following a low blow in the main event of Decembers Christmas Cracker; an elimination four way for the Undisputed British Cruiserweight Championship. But it was Ligero who would get the last laugh on that night.
After Haskins has disposed of Noam Dar he was on course to fulfil what he described to anyone who would listen as his destiny in regaining the British Cruiserweight Champion. However despite trying everything in his arsenal he failed to put away reigning champion Prince Devitt. Running out of options and with referee Chris Roberts blindsided Haskins resorted to dirty tactics grabbing the championship belt and prepared to level Devitt. However it wasn’t to be as Ligero grabbed the gold from Haskins hands before he had the chance to connect with the champion. The distraction proved enough to give Devitt the opening he needed to put Haskins away for the decisive 3 count and continue his reign as champion, in the process shattering Haskins dreams.
In Hakins mind, Ligero had turned business personal and thus he demanded a singles encounter straight away and began a tirade of abuse aimed at the Mexican which spilled over to his Twitter account and public forums. Haskins is not a happy man. Ligero cost him his chance to be once more be called champion and he cost him his chance to earn the champions share of the purse and the guarantee of the main event spotlight which he craves and as a new father feels he needs.
With two pin fall losses at the hands of Haskins, Ligero goes into No Holds Barred with everything to prove and a measure of revenge to gain. For Ligero despite all the impressive showings he needs a victory, so this contest could well prove to be make or break for him.
With the winner of this contest almost certainly in line to become the number one contender to the cruiserweight gold held by Prince Devitt the stakes are high!
