RETIREMENT OF CRUISERWEIGHT LEGEND JUSHIN 'THUNDER' LIGER
Firstly, the news we all know was coming, the Cruiserweight and all-round wrestling legend JUSHIN 'THUNDER' LIGER has retired from in-ring competition, bowing out in a tag match on night 2 of Wrestle Kingdom 14. LIGER received an incredible send-off from not only the fans in attendance but also fellow wrestlers, with even TANAHASHI shedding tears for the retiring legend.
UNDISPUTED BRITISH HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH ANNOUNCEMENT
Earlier this week, it was announced on NJPW Global's Twitter account that ZACK SABRE JR. will be defending his Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship against the 'Aerial Assassin' WILL OSPREAY at New Beginning in Sapporo, on Night 2, Sunday, February 2nd.
FORMER REVOLUTION PRO CONTENDER GABRIEL KIDD HAS NJPW DEBUT SCHEDULED
On the same night as the Undisputed Heavyweight Championship title defense, former Revolution Pro Contender, now LA Dojo student, GABRIEL KIDD, will make his debut for New Japan Pro Wrestling. Scheduled for singles action against the current Undisputed British Cruiserweight Champion EL PHANTASMO. As of writing this article, the title is not on the line.
